Mokshalifestyle.com Haul and Shopping Experience Review

I have a new found love now: Aromatherapy, and thanks to Soulflower that introduced me to this new world. But I wanted to look beyond that brand and learn more on aromatherapy. Also, when you use only one brand, you cannot compare the quality, it's like you are in a limited world. So thanks to Ray S and Reshma Dhuldhule, who told me about Mokshalifestyle.com.

Mokshalifestyle.com
Moksha Lifestyle products is an ISO 9001:2008, WHO GMP, HACCP and Halal Certified Company. Recently they also received their organic certification rom Biocert. So now all their products are organic certified. They have offices in India, Austria and the US. Mokshalifestyle.com sells internationally at wholesale rates. They are mainly into exports but they do fulfill small orders from one off customers like us, which is great. In India, they are based out of Shakti Nagar, New Delhi.

They sell essential oils, carrier oils, extracts, hydrosols (floral waters), Clays which are used in soaps and cosmetics (like French Clay, Kaolin clay, Fullers Earth, Zeolite etc) and Fragrance Oils which are used in cosmetics and candle or soap making. Currently their website is under updation so you will also see a tab for 'Home Wellness range' but they are no longer selling anything under that range.

When I first came to know about them, I went to their website and tried to place an order. But at checkout, it showed the minimum order amount is $50 or else a $30 processing fee is automatically added to the bill. So I gave up the idea. Then Reshma told me that I need to email their customer care as Indian customers cannot buy online from them.

I emailed them the list of items I was interested in buying, along with how much quantity I wanted, and they sent me a price quote. I was surprised pleasantly. The costs were definitely competitive. I was looking for a bigger packing of Jojoba oil and they quoted a very affordable price for 100ml Jojoba oil. But yes, Mokshalifestyle.com does charge 5% VAT over those prices plus shipping at Rs 100/Kg. Still I found that the prices were less or competitive with what other brands are selling. If you want to buy more than one oils, definitely it is cheaper.

It took me more than a week to order because the person I was interacting with on email, suddenly went on business travel and was not reachable on the phone too. Their team used to reply to my emails once in a day and as the prices are not listed on the site, it took me a little time to decide how much quantity of what to order. But I suggested this business to a few blog members and they could place their orders very quickly without any hassle. You can find their contact details HERE. The team was very polite and helpful.

I was worried about the quality but the quality is indeed very good. I found the Jojoba oil better than Soulflower's. Just a few drops of Moksha's Jojoba oil spread VERY easily on my hair without weighing them down and it smelt fresh too.

Each bottle was encased in a cardboard box
This bottle had two labels one of which says Avocado essential oil, But it is actually Avocado Carrier oil :)

This is how the darts look. One of them got broken while removing it.
I need more quantity so I usually pour directly after removing the dart.

Chanel No. 5 type fragrance Oil
Vanilla Fragrance Oil
Dolce & Gabbana Type Fragrance Oil
Interesting names! These are NOT natural aromatherapy oils. These are used in candles, soaps and hair and skin care products etc. I no longer make candles but these reminded me of the old days and I really wanted to possess these. I am thinking of pouring some on tea light candles and then burning them. Or in a potpourri or in some kind of home made room freshener. Still thinking of a DIY for these.

The Vanilla one smells heavenly and Chanel No. 5 type is also a very nice fragrance, a bit strong though. The Dolce & Gabbana type is the strongest and gives me headache. It is a masculine fragrance but would do good as a room freshener.

I wish I had known about this site earlier. I saw hydrosols (floral waters) which I would have loved to try in summers. For example your rose water is also a hydrosol. You can use these as toners or skin freshners in summers and these are 100% natural.

Also, some items might not be listed on their site but if you want a particular oil, you can still email them and check. For example, when I placed my order, I could not find Argan oil in the list. But later a blog member sent them an email and she got a quote for Argan oil too. Similarly Sandalwood oil is not there and when I checked, they said they sell that too.

Those who are wondering how come I am shopping so much, well I saved for these, and I hardly spend on makeup. Personal care is utmost to me so I like indulging in quality personal care products. Hope you liked knowing about this new site. Now you too can buy oils without burning a hole in your pocket.

    1. Yes Ray, I needed a bigger packing of Jojoba so I thought of checking with them this time and glad I did. I have not shared the cost because it may vary a little for everyone depending on how much quantity you order. For example if you order a mere 10 ml or 50 ml, the cost may go up a little for smaller quantities and if you buy more products and more quantity, the cost comes down. Bit there isn't a huge difference. Some of the blog members who bought shared the prices with me and they were in line with what I had paid. But one thing for sure, you won't be disappointed. The price esp for the carrier oils is quite pocket friendly.

    1. Thanks for the support Joyi. Yes, it was tedious in my case, to the point that I ordered some of the oils from other sites when finally Moksha also got back to me but others who bought did not face any such problem. They even got their products within a couple of days. In my case, the contact person was traveling and did not have continuous access to the internet.

  11. heyyy... this made my day... so so happy..!!! i have just send them my list of products.. waiting for their reply.. i will finally order from them now..mostly carrier oils and hydrosols.. i really agree with you on the comparison part i.e u cant really compare if u have just used one brand.. n the thing u said jojoba oil is better than soulflower.. i mean seriously we will save some money coz soulflower has 30ml for 350/250.. and moksha is providing like 100ml for same or even less price.. that was the main reason i was attracted.. but then u said that u were not sure about the quality so even i backed out.. but now i know that i can do a lot more DIY's without breaking the bank.. i hope to see diys from u too.. and all the uses.. and i agree on the weighing down hair due to jojoba oil...and i had actually inquired about the butters as well like coco.mango etc..but they were expensive..but it will be on my list. coz in india .these butters are really hard to find at reasonable rates.. as all the international sites offer a huge variety but the shipping cost and all makes it a messy affair. glad about finally finding a site in India.. your review is so detailed and genuine that i always trust u before buying online.. like jabong was offering so so many discounts that i was tempted..but then i did not want to risk.. keep up the good work. and even i believe in investing in skin care than makeup.. :) :)

    1. You are welcome Reshma :) I wanted to thank you openly. Do share with me what all you order. Would love to know. I haven't tried their essential oils yet but will do in the future. As for the Jojoba, I have much more to share on the comparison with Soulflower. I will do that in a separate post and you might be shocked.

I understand a lot of people are hesitant to spend on oils when they easily spend on stuff which is advertised on TV in a misleading way to lure them. I am glad that you believe in personal care and have an inclination for natural products from the right age. Thanks for trusting my reviews, it means a lot to me.

For the butters, I didn't know about them earlier. I saw they have another website (India based) where they are selling these. I have no idea of the prices but would love to check those out. So you already knew about them :), I didn't, as those are not showing on the Moksha site.

Hi Gagan,i am new to your blog,i was searching reviews for soulflower and landed here.I must say you have a great blog and i am going through all your old post so that i don't miss anything :).your jojoba oil tip really worked wonders for me.after reading your review on Moksha i thought i would give it a try.so i placed an order with them.it took 3 days which was fine by me BUT they sent it through the worst courier service possible TRACKON courier.i live on the outskirts of kolkata and even after 10 days i did not get it.the cust service numbers are phony and even moksha people could not track it.i spent Rs1150 and dont know what to do next.the reason I want to share this with you is if anyone is reading your review and views this comment KINDLY request moksha to send your parcel through some other service than trackon.specially if you live far off the city limits.thank you for bearing with me gagan ;)

  14. Dear Vinodhini, welcome to my blog and thanks for sharing this experience. I was planning my second order with Moksha and spoke to them last week. I had given the same feedback on courier. I think mine had also come through trackon but it had reached in 5 days. I am also away from the main city in a railway township. I was told by the Moksha guy that not all courier companies undertake shipping of liquid items. This leaves them with only the few that do. My experience with local trackon service is exactly the same. Sometimes they deliver in 2 days and even on Sundays, while some other times they take 10-12 days. I had even talked to guy who owns trackon agency here and he had mentioned something like their trucks being caught on the way because I think it requires special authorization to carry certain items and these guys undertake almost everything.

Can you please email me your shipping details/ tracking number shared by Moksha? I will personally try to check with both Moksha and trackon. There is just one main mobile number for Moksha and that is the owner. He keeps travelling abroad as they have offices all over the world. That is the only reason you may not have been able to get through them. I have spoken to them several times on the mobile number given in the email.

Kindly don't lose heart. 10 days is normal with trackon. Living in a remote area, I keep facing such courier problems every other day. Earlier I used to take a lot of stress and would keep calling up courier companies to track or complain , but ever since I have accepted they are also humans and sometimes they also have genuine limitations, I feel at peace. It is actually very difficult to deliver things to remote areas. Now in my area, they come just once a week.So if I order something on thursday and even if it reaches the next day, the courier guy would come only on the fixed day in the next week, which mostly comes to 8 days. I just sincerely wish your parcel is lying at one of the in-between locations and ultimately reaches you. Please do share the shipping details as mentioned above.

    2. People leaving anonymous negative comments about a good brand or product are either jealous competitors or f**king cowards. Which one are you? Plus you seem to be a retard too since you are poking your nose too much in this blog and continuously leaving such stupid comments which I am not bothering wasting time in publishing. Please feel free to FO.

I am using many oils from them and they have all the required certifications plus quality analysis certificate of each product attached on their site. They are now also organic certified.

Thank you very much for your reply Gagan :) and sorry for the delay in responding back.I felt relived after reading you reply.i was literally tearing my hair out cause i never faced such situation before.I have had things delivered from Flipkart,Medplus,Healthkart,Beatykafe, snapdeal and soulflower to this same address and received in 5-7 days max.i have received my order from Amazon.com (twice) and another international site also in around 7 days.so i freaked out when my order took so much time.but after reading your reply i understood that they have sent it by road and the part about the trucks being caught.so i was hoping that was the situation.i kept calling trackon the whole day and finally someone picked up and said their was some unsuall delay for things sent from delhi this time and said doesn't know when it will reach.so i decided to wait.also i had contacted Mr.Ajit Singh in moksha and he said he would contact his courier guy and send me an email.but i guess the guy was also not able get the info ,so they sent me the track link info.can't blame them they themselves sounded helpless. Also i contacted BlueDart and FedEx guys who deliver in my area.BlueDart said that if the quantity is less say 100-200ml they accept liquid items(once got 50ml carrier oil and 10ml essential oil) OR if the quantity is more he suggested to make it into 2 packages.that way it would be eligible for transport through air(faster delivery).then i contacted FedEx(Flipkart once sent me 400ml worth oil through them).he said that usually FedEx does not accept liquids but if any branch accepts it then then will deliver (This is for shipment through air). However any amount of liquid can be sent by road(like Moksha did through Trackon),though it would take upto 7 days to reach the designated branch. So if anyone is just buying essential oils or just 1 carrier oil they can have it delivered by air through bluedart or fedex.I personally feel Fedex is the best and they have excellent tracking system.so next i order i am planning to ask Moksha to send through FedEx road.oh! i totally forgot there is finally some track on my order and seems to be on the move.Hope to get it soon(fingers crossed).thank you a lot Gagan for taking so much time for your followers.I really appreciate it.You are the BEST :)

    1. Dear Vinodhini, sorry I was busy with personal commitments so could not answer your comment earlier. If I have even the slightest doubt about a business or don't trust it completely, I will never recommend it to anyone. That's my principle :) So I am glad things finally took a positive turn. Sincerely hope that you have received your parcel by now. I am yet to place my next order though I badly need some of the oils I have finished. If you read this, do let me know if you have received your packet from Moksha. Yes, it would be a good idea to check with them if they can send through Fedex next time. I understand how harassing it was for you this time but you know it was also year end and the load increases on courier companies during festivals and such occasions when more shipments and gifts are sent out. I saw you liked my Facebook page. Welcome to my blog family and hope to see you around always. Thanks for placing your trust in me and your compliment made my day :)

    1. Hey, hope you read this. I was not active on the blog past one month +.

All the 3 fragrance oils I had bought from Moksha are lying waste. I tried using them in multiple ways but not happy. When I tried burning them with a candle and also through diffuser, they emited thick black soot. Moksha claims that even their fragrance oils are 90% natural but I don't agree with it.

Finally I sprinkled a few drops on the artificial cloth flowers. The flowers started looking ugly due to the oil and the fragrance was very heavy. But sadly it was all evaporated in a day. I am really shocked brands adds these same petrochemicals based oils to our personal care products. These are just not worth buying until you know of a sure shot good way of using them and getting the desired result out out of it.
